Our greatest storyteller is Mother Nature. Everything we see around us, the lakes, the mountains – they tell a story about our planet’s existence. With Covid-19, we have the chance to become storytellers of our own. What will our story be?

My reflections in this blog: Is Covid-19 a vaccine from our “mother nature” that blows us free from a self-destructive form of life that we have become accustomed to, that would otherwise threaten our continued existence on Earth?

We talk about social distancing and death and antivirals and vaccines and food chains. These are all important. But when the crisis is passed, maybe we need to talk about a connection to the future we want to build for our lives and our planet.

Successful communication is a grand challenge for us. Possibly one of the grandest. I would even say, the one challenge that will, in the end, determine whether or not we will survive as a human kind. Whales communicate successfully over 10,000 miles distance. We have the intellectual potential to learn that as well. Covid-19 could teach us how.

Covid-19 is waking something in us that we haven’t felt in a long time. It’s our heart. Our empathy for one another, for our species on Earth. It is making us realize things about our “old” life that we now have the opportunity to reflect on before we release the pause button again. What issues is it bringing to our attention?
